About

SynAxes

SynAxes is an educational resource that intends to bridge neuroscience concepts with real life applications to ultimately de-mystify the medium and mighty brain. With a combination of videos, infographics, articles, podcast episodes, and the occasional comic, SynAxes hopes to become a resource that is beneficial for all to learn a little more about what goes on in their brains, and see neuroscience all around their lives!

About the Founder

Su Jeong

Su Jeong is a current high school senior at Newton South High School, who found out about neuroscience when she had to study the nervous system for her school’s science team in her junior year. Not being a core subject, she found that many middle and high schoolers wouldn’t be exposed to neuroscience until their senior year, and even then, it would have a very steep learning curve, with research papers and complex anatomy and concepts often being difficult to learn straight from the get go.

She founded SynAxes to create a resource that allowed middle and high schoolers – future psychologists, physicians, neuroscientists, and more – to gain earlier and clearer access to neuroscience content, all in a comprehensive, interactive website. Having moved six times throughout her life (Korea, Switzerland, Japan, and the United States) and always striving to learn new things, Su Jeong firmly believes that learning how your brain works is one of the most powerful things you can do, and can shift the perspective on your life.

Su aspires to be a cardiothoracic surgeon or a forensic psychiatrist, and her role model is the Amoeba Sisters.
